Who Is Naiyah? Learn More About The Surprise New Voice From Sheffield That Is Turning Heads And Capturing Locals Attention | The Immature/Rough Copy EP Out Now!

On 1/6/2025, Sheffield and our audiences from all kinds of locations and backgrounds had their first introduction to a new talent and fresh voice from the city called NAIYAH.

At only the age of 20, Naiyah has put together a small project to introduce herself to the world, to give people an idea of her sound and showcase a taste of her ability. This debut EP from Naiyah titled 'Immature', which seems to speak more to the stage of her career more than her character, is for sure a breath of fresh air locally and judging from the downloads, people from all over are feeling the energy this young singer is displaying.

What really stood out for us is when we found out that she wrote all the songs herself, which for her age are very mature topics which many will be able to relate to. We were then surprised to also find out that she recorded the majority of this project herself in her bedroom with just the use of Bandlab and a microphone. If you know your music programmes, you will be aware how limited Bandcamp is but Nayiah has not let these limitations stop her. Since releasing this project, Naiyah has had a lot of interest from producers wanting to remix songs from the EP, including some of the very biggest name producers from the UK in Bassline, Drum n Bass and House.

Over the next few weeks, you will see a little bit more of Naiyah locally around Sheffield as she has also has a number of live performance opportunities thrown her way for the summer and later in the year. Without revealing too much, Naiyah is set to perform at a number of events locally alongside some of the biggest names locally, and in support of some of the biggest names in music or entertainment from the UK so watch this space.

Sheffield has had a large pool of great talent over the years that produce some amazing music in addition to other content. However, for her age, we feel this might be one of the best voices to come out of Sheffield within the respective genres that Naiyah operates in. If this is the kind of music that is being created now, how much better is she going to become over time, with more experience and working with other great talent to learn from. Either way, Naiyah is for sure an exciting prospect to keep a very close eye on and we look forward to see what is to come in the future from this new artist.

Naiyah had her own reasons why now was the time and why she wanted to just randomly drop an EP out of nowhere with no pre marketing, which seems to have worked and got people interested, she said this:

"DEBRIEF: I wrote these songs as a way to process everything I was feeling but couldn’t say out loud. Every song is a reflection of a moment, memory, or a mindset I’ve had to work through. Whether it was heartbreak, healing, confusion or growth - writing helped me make sense of it all and put my feelings into words. My project isn’t just music or a money scheme, it’s me learning how to be honest, how to let go, how to move forward - me doing something i’ve always loved but been under confident and scared to show n they do say the first step is the hardest so i’ve over came a fear too I guess. i’m only gona get better as i learn and evolve into the scene and I hope whoever listens feels seen, heard, or even just a little less alone."
